How can I use JQuery to search a richtextbox?
I want to use JQuery to search in a rich textbox, and return a count of the number of times the keyword was found.
I've tried using the following:

but I am getting an error.

I think you want to use the contents() method.
Use the following to get a list of the search results and store the number of hits in a variable.
var results = $('', {id: "searchResults"}).html(data.replace(/['"]+/g, '')).contents();
Then use the following to get the total number of hits.
results.length
However, note that if you want to filter your search results based on content (such as based on user specified tags or categories), you might be better served using an SQL database than using the rich textbox.
